To answer that, I would say it depends. It depends on the location. So, for example, where I'm from in North Carolina, in a city of about 100,000 people, traditional taxis, the ones with the little lights on the top, are not that popular. Most people have a car, and they drive that car, especially because distances tend to be longer.

I will say, however, that it's possible to request a sort of taxi service through an Uber or Lyft app. By contrast, though, in bigger cities such as Los Angeles or New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., then yes, traditional taxis are very popular.

Most people do own a car, but they leave that car at home, and they prefer other modes of transport when they are around the city. So whether that's a traditional taxi or a bicycle, walking, scooters, or the Metro, for example, they prefer those methods because traffic can be horrendous in the city and parking fees can be rather exorbitant. So that's that.
