News #13 Temple
Good evening, and welcome to tonight's 10 o'clock news. The main stories this evening:
A new Buddhist temple has been opened on the outskirts of the city. The opening ceremony, which was attended by people of all different faiths, was said to be a great success.
Mobile phone prices have reached an all time low. Now is the cheapest time in history to buy, and use, a mobile phone. This is said to be due to the increased usage of different networks and the price wars.
A woman has reached the history books after completing the world's longest bus journey. June Rider, from the West Bank, stayed on a double decker for 621 days, but decided to stop after her third grandson was born.
An animal sanctuary is due to open on the outskirts of the city next week. The sanctuary is being funded by the local council and is hoping to help save both neglected pets and local wildlife. If you would like to make a donation please call the hotline.
Health officials are promoting fresh fruit and vegetables this week in a bid to encourage residents to increase their intake from an average of 4 portions per day, to 7. It has been proven that a diet which is higher in fruit and vegetables decreases risks of life threatening illnesses.
Tomorrow will be chilly, with top temperature at 8 degrees. The evening may bring wind, and you should expect some sleet overnight. I'm afraid it is the same story for most of this week. Well, that's it for tonight. Thanks for watching.
